Provided is a rice straw biochar preparation method. The method comprises the following steps: pulverizing a rice straw, mixing the same with water, providing a hydrothermal reaction vessel to perform a hydrothermal carbonization reaction thereon, wherein a solid-to-liquid ratio of the rice straw to water is 1 kg:5 L to 1 kg:20 L; cooling a product of the hydrothermal carbonization reaction, then filtering, separating and drying the same to obtain a rice straw biochar. The method increases an overall utilization rate, economic benefit and additional value of rice. The process in the method is clean and green, easy to operate, has a low energy consumption and a low cost, enables resource recycling, facilitates sequestering carbon and reduces carbon dioxide emission. The resulting product has a wide prospect of applications.
