The present invention belonging to the field of video provides an expression specific animation loading method in real-time video and an electronic device. The method comprises: identifying a human face expression in a real-time video frame, and generating a recognition resu obtaining the identification specific animation to be loaded according to the identification resu in the real-time video frame, determining the loading position of the expression specific animation; and sending the expression specific animation and the loading position to other electronic devices. The invention meets the customization needs of user for real-time video calls, increases video interactive forms, and improves the user experience.
