摘要
Introduction :The goal of computer-aided implant planning and placement is the achievement of the maximal safety during the implant surgery. However, the sum of errors that are accumulated throughout the computer-aided cascade usually result in implant deviation from the pre-planned positions. Idea: In this innovation, the radiographic clear stent is transformed into the CAS by simply drilling the implant vector holes into the stent utilizing any CAD/ CAM machine rather than using the rapid prototyping technology. This is achieved by using the three main components of this innovation which is the Orienter, Orienter Mount and the Fixation Plane metal disk. Purpose: The main purpose of the Orienter is to correlate the exact spatial position of the planned implants in relation to itself and the fixation plane. The Orienter mount helps maintain the Orienter in a zero-zero-zero x-y-z position thus negates the need for complicated registration procedure. Once the CAS/ Orienter complex is fixed to the fixation plane metal disc, milling of the implant vector holes by the CAD/ CAM machine is performed. Conclusion: This new innovative technique not only dramatically reduces the cost and saves time, energy and material, but it also helps eliminate unnecessary errors by simply cutting on the numerous steps involved in constructing any conventional computer guided surgical stents.
