Disclosed is an implementation method for generating and using an expression for a virtual image created through free combination, comprising: selecting facial organs or a partial face as parts from a virtual image organ set to generate a basic virtual image; selecting a specific expression; and then replacing organ parts in the basic virtual image with organ parts meeting a condition, so that the virtual image accords with the selected specific expression. A generation method for a virtual image organ database, which meets the above expression implementation requirement of a virtual image. In the method, an extremely large number of freely combined virtual images can be generated using a small amount of image resources for a user to select a virtual image representing the individual, and individual feelings or emotions are expressed with facial expressions of the virtual image. The method is applicable to different types of two-dimensional and three-dimensional virtual images, including a human face, a whole body, an animal, a cartoon character and an abstract emoticon face.
