The present invention is to provide a high value-added functional health supplement for removing hangover comprising a mixture of a Hovenia dulcis Thunb extract and a Perilla frutescens Britton var. leaf extract, natural resources of Korea. More specifically, the food composition for removing hangover is safe and has no side effect even when being taken for a long period of time by using natural raw materials. To achieve the purpose, the present invention comprises one of the following as an active ingredient: a mixture of a Hovenia dulcis Thunb extract and a Perilla frutescens Britton var. leaf extract, dissolved in one among water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, isopropanol, butanol, or a mixed solvent thereof; or a non-polar solvent soluble extract of one selected from hexane, chloroform, dichlomethane, and ethylacetate. The food composition for removing hangover of the present invention: has no side effect on a human body; has an excellent hangover removing effect; and has a superior protective effect against hepatotoxicity. Thus a health supplement comprising the same as an active ingredient is easy to take and can be stored for a long time, thereby being usefully used for removing hangover and hepatoprotective effects before and after drinking.
