In an embodiment, a continuous melt polycarbonate polymerization process comprises: a step of forming a polymerized polycarbonate by melting and polymerizing a carbonate compound and a dihydroxy compound in the presence of a catalyst composition; a step of forming an adjusted polycarbonate by adding a viscosity-lowering agent to polymerized polycarbonate upstream of a first melt filter; a step of replacing the first melt filter with a replacement melt filter; a step of introducing the adjusted polycarbonate to the replacement melt filter; and a step of lowering the addition rate of the viscosity-lowering agent until the addition rate becomes 0 mol/hr.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
