PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION COMPRISING EXTRACT OF LYSIMACHIA VULGARIS VAR. DAVURICA (LEDEB.) R.KUNTH FOR PREVENTION OR TREATMENT OF BONE DISEASES

The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating bone diseases containing an extract of Lysimachia vulgaris var. davurica(Ledeb.) R.Kunth as an active ingredient. The extract of Lysimachia vulgaris var. davurica(Ledeb.) R.Kunth decreases expression of NFATc1 and c-Fos and inhibits activation of ERK and p38 MAPK in a differentiation process into the osteoclasts by RANKL, thereby: inhibiting differentiation into osteoclasts and bone resorption by the osteoclasts; inhibiting bone loss by LPS in a bone loss inducing animal model; and significantly reducing the number of osteoclasts. Therefore, the extract of Lysimachia vulgaris var. davurica(Ledeb.) R.Kunth can be usefully used as a composition for preventing or treating bone diseases.
