Disclosed are an energy-effective user relay method for a millimeter wave mobile system and an apparatus for the same. The energy-effective user relay method for a millimeter wave mobile system of the present invention includes the steps of: generating channel information of multiple user relay nodes in a cell; comparing the number of the user relay nodes with the number of multiple terminal nodes; converting at least one of the user relay nodes to the terminal node if the number of the user relay nodes is more than the number of the terminal nodes; and assigning the user relay nodes to the terminal nodes.
