The present invention relates to an ultra-low power and miniaturized wireless authentication system comprising a mobile terminal and a card type authentication device, and a wireless authentication method thereof. More particularly, the ultra-low power and miniaturized wireless authentication system comprises the mobile terminal capable of transceiving wireless data, and the card type authentication device operated by receiving power from the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal includes: a monitoring unit for monitoring the locking and releasing of a screen of the mobile terminal; an auto-driving unit for automatically driving and terminating the mobile terminal according to a command of the monitoring unit; a screen control unit for controlling the mobile terminal to be locked or released; a wireless communications unit for wirelessly transceiving data by the mobile terminal and the card type authentication device from/to each other; and a storing unit for storing user information. The card type authentication device includes: a card unit for transceiving data in a non-contact type and contact type; an antenna unit for generating induced current by the mobile terminal, and transceiving a wireless signal; a power supply unit for supplying power to the card type authentication device by the induced current generated in the antenna unit; and a central processing unit for performing user authentication by using the user information transmitted from the mobile terminal.
