The present invention relates to a process for producing a porous carbon-silicon composite by a spray drying method and a porous carbon-silicon composite produced thereby. The manufacturing method according to an embodiment of the present invention minimizes the manufacturing steps by using the spray drying process, and mass production is possible by a continuous process. Also, the porous carbon-silicon composite produced by the above method can improve the performance of the lithium secondary battery by minimizing the volume expansion due to the insertion of lithium ions.
