ASTER GLEHNI FRACTIONS OR COMPOUNDS ISOLATED THEREFROM HAVING ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITY

The present invention relates to a fraction of Aster glehni FR.SCHM. which has excellent anti-inflammatory activity and a compound separated from the same. As an ethylacetate fraction of the Aster glehni FR.SCHM. and an active compound separated from the same, 6-O-caffeoyl roseoside, 6-O-caffeoyl dihydro syringin, and glehnoside have strong anti-oxidant ability due to free radical removal ability. Also, nitric oxide (NO), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), TNF- (tumor necrosis factor alpha), IL-6 (interleukin-6), and IL-1 (interleukin-1beta) which are induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS), are suppressed from generation, wherein the NO is an inflammatory byproduct, and the TNF-, IL-6, and IL-1 are inflammatory cytokine. Therefore, the present invention can be usefully utilized as an active component of medicine, cosmetics and health food.
