A global shutter image sensor according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a semiconductor substrate which includes a first surface and a second surface; a photoelectric conversion area which is formed in the semiconductor substrate; a storage diode which is formed around the photoelectric conversion area in the semiconductor substrate; a drain area which is formed above the photoelectric conversion area in the semiconductor substrate; a floating diffusion area which is formed above the storage diode in the semiconductor substrate; an overflow gate which transmits first charges from the photoelectric conversion area to the drain area; a storage gate which transmits second charges from the photoelectric conversion area to the storage diode; and a transmission gate which transmits the second charges from the storage diode to the floating diffusion area.
