The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for responding to an emergency in a hybrid power supply system of an offshore plant. In the apparatus for responding to an emergency in a hybrid power supply system of an offshore plant, the apparatus of the present invention comprises: a power generator; an AC/DC converter for converting the alternating current generated by the power generator into a direct current to supply the direct current to a DC bus; a power load connected to the DC bus to generate regenerative electric power; a power storage unit connected to the DC bus to store the regenerative electric power; an emergency detecting sensor installed in the offshore plant to detect an emergency situation and to transmit an emergency detecting signal to an ESD system; the ESD system for transmitting emergency occurrence information to a VFD control unit when the emergency detecting signal is received from the emergency detecting sensor; and the VFD control unit for consuming the electric power of the power storage unit when the emergency occurrence information from the ESD system is detected.
