A card type smart key according to the present invention includes: a touch sensing part for sensing a touch operation of a user as to a front of a cover; a grip sensing part for sensing a grip operation of the user as to a side of the cover; and a power control part which controls to sense the grip operation by supplying a stand-by power to the grip sensing part in a sleep mode, and controls to supply electricity to the touch sensing part in case the grip operation is sensed by the grip sensing part.
