The present invention relates to a DPI device and a DPI method for analyzing and controlling data packets via software running at a kernel level. The DPI device according to the present invention comprises an analysis framework which includes: a data packet reading part for detecting and reading an input packet; a protocol analysis part for analyzing the protocol of the input data packet; a flow matching part for matching the analyzed protocol to a flow; and a data packet storage part for storing the data packet using the matching information.
