The present invention relates to a biomarker for evaluating skin photodamage, comprising one or more selected among the group consisting of dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase, maleic acid, and fumaric acid; and to a method for evaluating skin photodamage using the same. Accordingly, an aloe vera extract is treated on epidermis to prevent or treat skin photodamage by increasing the expression of the biomarker reduced by ultraviolet rays.
