The present invention relates to a testing device and a method of an accelerated water tree, and more specifically, to a testing device and a method of an accelerated water tree which tests an accelerated water tree of cable for power distribution in order to confirm a long term reliability of cables for power distribution. Provided are the testing apparatus and the method for an accelerated water tree which conduct an accelerated water tree test by inserting a cable sample forming a penetrating space into a water tank which maintains the temperature of water, and supplying electricity to the cable sample. The apparatus for accelerated water tree testing comprises: a water tank which maintains the temperature of water therein according to a predetermined temperature; a cable sample which has a plurality of penetrating spaces and is inserted into the water tank; and a voltage source which supplies a predetermined voltage to the cable sample.
