The present invention relates to a preparation method of mesoporous silica nanoparticles. The preparation method of mesoporous silica nanoparticles can usefully adjust the sizes of the particles using alkali metal salts or alkali earth metal salts, and can prepare mesoporous silica nanoparticles in an economical and effective way through a simple process. According to the present invention, the mesoporous silica nanoparticles with adjusted sizes have high surface area and nano-sized pores, and thus can be used to an adsorbent, a gas storage, a sensor, a membrane, a catalyst, a catalyst carrier, etc.
