GRAY CAST IRON FOR CYLINDER LINER AND METHOD TO MANUFACTURE CYLINDER LINER USING SAME

The present invention relates to a gray cast iron for a cylinder liner and a method to manufacture the cylinder liner using the same which controls a content of substances making molten steel to manufacture a gray cast iron to maintain excellent fatigue strength and thermal impact characteristics. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the gray cast iron for a cylinder liner comprises: 3.2-3.7 wt% of C, 2.0-2.8 wt% of Si, 0.50-1.0 wt% of Mn, 0.20 wt% or less of P (excluding 0 wt%); 0.10 wt% or less of S (excluding 0 wt%), 0.50 wt% or less of Cr (excluding 0 wt%), 0.20-0.80 wt% of Cu, 0.10-0.40 wt% of Mo, and Fe and other unavoidable impurities; and satisfies the below formula 1. Formula 1: 0.8 = Cu + 1.5Cr + 1.2Mo = 1.5; where in formula 1, Cu, Cr, and Mo mean the content (wt%) of each substance.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
