Provided in the present invention is a method for improving chlorella, comprising the control of the expression of specific genes in chlorella, which are one or more types of genes selected from the group consisting of genes of SEQ ID NO: 1 to SEQ ID NO: 6. In addition, provided in the present invention are: the chlorella obtained by the improvement method; and a vector in which a promoter for controlling the expression of the genes is inserted. Accordingly, the chlorella is capable of inducing a rapid growth and providing high contents of chlorophyll.
