The present invention relates to: a method for preparing a plasma polymer thin film having excellent thermal characteristics and being suitable for a matrix of a gel polymer electrolyte; a polymer thin film prepared by the method; a gel polymer electrolyte to which the polymer thin film is applied; and a secondary battery and, more specifically, to: a method for preparing a polymer thin film by plasma polymerization, wherein the method carries out polymerization by applying plasma to a liquid polymer monomer interface; a polymer thin film prepared by the method; a gel polymer electrolyte to which the polymer thin film is applied; and a secondary battery.
