Provided are a marine propulsion network having a string converter capable of controlling large battery fault current and performing parallel control in low load and a method for controlling a marine propulsion network using the same. The marine propulsion network having a string converter comprises: a plurality of battery strings connected with a plurality of batteries in series and parallel, controlling to block current at a fault current generation point, and connected with a vessel control system and a main panel board to forcibly block a current at an accident generation point when a supply of the fault current is less than the set supply level.
