The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of lithium sulfide (Li_2S), which can manufacture carbon-coated lithium sulfide particles having excellent electrochemical activity through a simple extraction method using a polymer surfactant in a condition of using a mixed solvent, and can embody various particle shapes and electrochemical characteristics through a pre-treatment and a post-treatment of the process. The manufacturing method of lithium sulfide according to the present invention comprises the steps of: dissolving a lithium precursor using a first solvent which is polar; dissolving a sulfur precursor using a second solvent which is non-polar and is miscible with the first solvent; and synthesizing sulfide (Li_2S) by mixing the first solvent and the second solvent, and conducting a reaction of sulfide ions and lithium ions.
