Disclosed are a paper substrate which is light-weighted, flexible, and waterproof, and a sensor using a paper substrate. Also disclosed are a sensor using the paper substrate and a method for producing the sensor using the paper substrate. According to the present invention, the paper substrate includes paper and a coating layer which is coated with a hydrophobic polymer on the surface of the paper, wherein parylene may be chosen as the hydrophobic polymer.
