Provided in the present invention are an adhesive tape for protecting a surface of a cover glass for the direct bonding, and a method for the direct bonding of a cover glass using the same. The adhesive tape for protecting a surface of a cover glass for the direct bonding comprises: a polyethylene terephthalate film; an acryl-based adhesive layer laminated on the lower part of the polyethylene terephthalate film; and a release film formed on the lower part of the acryl-based adhesive layer. The upper part of the polyethylene terephthalate film is treated with a surface charge. According to the present invention, the adhesive tape for protecting a surface of a cover glass for the direct bonding is easy to remove the adhesive tape, and increases the efficiency and the convenience in a direct bonding process.
