The present invention is a method for removing trihalomethanes (THMs) using a plasma ozone process. Residual chlorine in the chlorine disinfection process and organic matters in water are bonded to produce THMs. The THMs are carcinogenic substances which are harmful to the human body. The purpose of the present invention is to reduce production of THMs by removing organic matters of sand filtered water before chlorine disinfection using ozone produced by plasma in quality of drinking water which has recently received attention. In order to accomplish the purpose of the present invention, a plasma ozone process for removing THMs in water treatment process according to the present invention reduces production of THMs by removing organic matters which are capable of being bonded with chlorine in sand filtered water using ozone generated from a plasma apparatus before performing a chlorine disinfection process.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
