The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an alkali-resistant (AR)-glass fiber using coal waste and an AR-glass fiber manufactured by the method, wherein the method comprises the steps of: 1) stirring and mixing raw materials of a glass fiber having an AR glass composition; 2) melting the mixed raw materials of the AR glass composition at a high temperature to form molten glass; and 3) fiberizing the AR-glass from the molten glass of the AR glass composition using a fiberization apparatus. The input of waste rock is changed using a sandstone-based coal waste of silica-alumina having a comparatively small carbon content, thereby manufacturing bulk glass and fiber glass of an AR glass composition, respectively, and the types of glass can be used as a concrete reinforcing member.
