The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for correcting geometric distortion of a multiview image, enabling more accurate and minute correction of geometric distortion of a multiview image and maintaining temporal coherence at the same time. According to the present invention, the method comprises the following steps: selecting one of multiple images of each viewpoint as a saliency viewpoint image; setting a reference area in the saliency viewpoint image and extracting a feature point of the reference area; tracking the reference area with respect to each remaining viewpoint images except for the saliency viewpoint image based on the feature point of the reference area; comparing the feature point of the reference area in the saliency viewpoint image with the feature point of tracked reference areas by each viewpoint, and obtaining geometric distortion information of each viewpoint; low-pass filtering the respective geometric distortion information of each viewpoint and maintaining temporal coherence with respect to the geometric distortion information of each viewpoint; and correcting geometric distortion of multiple images of each viewpoint on the basis of the geometric distortion information of each viewpoint in which the temporal coherence is maintained.
