摘要

Disclosed is a slab defect predicting method in a continuous casting process in accordance with an embodiment. In the slab defect predicting method, a rate of crack occurrence related to a variation of peripheral speed and basicity of mold powder is obtained from a plurality of continuous casting operation data. The following crack prediction formula is derived by simulating the rate of crack occurrence based on the variation of peripheral speed and the basicity of the mold powder. From the crack prediction formula, a ratio of a threshold (peripheral speed variation)/(basicity of mold powder) is derived. Crack prediction formula (Y) = A * exp(B * (peripheral speed variation/basicity)), wherein A and B are constants.
