The present invention relates to a III-type crystal of L-α-glyceryl phosphoryl choline and, more particularly, to an L-α-glyceryl phosphoryl choline III-type crystal in the form of a half-hydrate obtained by inserting the III-type crystal as a seed crystal to be aged and filtered after conventional liquid L-α-glyceryl phosphoryl choline is concentrated and dissolved in an alcohol solution. The L-α-glyceryl phosphoryl choline III-type crystal has an initiation temperature (onset) at 143°C and an endothermic peak at 145°C in differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis, has a diffraction pattern in which 2&thgr; diffraction angles are 9.4±0.2°, 9.7±0.2°, 10.1±0.2°, 11.9±0.2°, 13.2±0.2°, 14.1±0.2°, 14.6±0.2°, 15.6±0.2°, 17.9±0.2°, 18.8±0.2°, 20.5±0.2°, 21.7±0.2°, 22.3±0.2°, 23.0±0.2°, 24.7±0.2°, 25.2±0.2°, and 25.5±0.2° in powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and is a half-hydrate.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
