The present invention relates to a composition for controlling insects prepared by adding tannic acid into effective amount of Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki KB100 strain and the uses thereof. More specifically, the present invention confirms that insecticidal activities can last by controlling the excessive decomposition of protoxin of KB100 strain caused by protease of beet armyworm midgut liquid by adding tannic acid into effective amount of KB100 strain. Accordingly, the composition for controlling insects of the present invention exhibits a strong insecticidal effect on a beet armyworm. In particular, it can solve the problem of the reduction in susceptibility of Bacillus thuringiensis in a beet armyworm which reaches final instar. Accordingly, the present invention is an eco-friendly alternative, which minimizes the effect on crops and effective in controlling insects which breeds in crops.
