The present invention relates to a visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition and a manufacturing method thereof. According to embodiments of the present invention, the visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition can solve a problem that photocatalytic activation can hardly occur under indoor conditions where sunlight does not approach. Furthermore, the visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition is chemically stable and can be activated even under conditions of visible light and fluorescent light. Accordingly, it is verified that the visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition can be effective in decomposing or eliminating a volatile organic compound, a harmful organic substance causing sick house syndrome, harmful microorganisms such as fungi and viruses, etc. under indoor conditions as well as outdoor conditions. Therefore, the visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition can be practically used for a wall material, a tile, glass, a mirror, an environmental filter, a stone material used as a pumice stone of a water-circulating artificial waterfall or fountain, sanitary pottery such as a toilet, a sink, etc., an instrument for preventing hospital infection caused by bacteria such as MRSA or the like, a housing facility, an antifungal material, an antiviral material, etc. The visible light-responsive photocatalyst coating composition comprises: (a) 0.01-30 wt% of a photocatalyst including TiO_2 and ZnO, (b) 0.01-10 wt% of a promoter precursor, (c) 0.1-25 wt% of an inorganic binder, (d) 0.01-10 wt% of a silicone-modified resin, (e) 0.01-10 wt% of a water repellent resin, (f) 0.001-10 wt% of alkoxysilane, and (g) 10-95 wt% of an aqueous organic solvent solution.
