The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating sterility or infertility comprising a sialylated Tn antigenic carbohydrate, or an activation agent of the antigen as an active component. Further, the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for contraception comprising an inhibitor of a sialylated Tn antigenic carbohydrate, or an expression or active inhibitor of enzymes which synthesize the antigen. Further, the present invention relates to a marker composition for measuring pregnancy possibility or pregnancy efficiency comprising a sialylated Tn antigenic carbohydrate. Further, the present invention relates to a method for screening a sterility or infertility treatment agent, or an anticonceptive using sialylated Tn sugar chains. A sialylated Tn antigen according to the present invention has a close relation with implantation of pregnancy. Therefore, a sialylated Tn antigen according to the present invention is capable of being used as a sterility treatment agent or an anticonceptive, and is used to measure pregnancy possibility or pregnancy efficiency. Further, a sialylated Tn antigen according to the present invention is capable of being used as a method for screening the sterility treatment agent or the anticonceptive.
