The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a polarizer, and a polarizer and a polarization plate manufactured by using the same. The method for manufacturing a polarizer comprises the steps of: preparing a polyvinyl alcohol-based polarizer dyed with at least one from iodine dye and dichroic dye; allowing a discoloration solution to be locally in contact with a partial area of the polarizer, so as to form a depolarized area; and treating at least the depolarized area with acid by using an acid treatment solution. The polarizer can be depolarized without a punched hole unlike an existing polarizer, and has a depolarized area with high heat resistance.
