The present invention relates to an Escherichia coli strain FMIS2 (E. coli BW25113 (DE3) pgi/pACYCDue1-dxs-ispG-idi-ispS) which produces isoprene, and a use thereof and, more specifically, to an Escherichia coli strain FMIS2 which easily produces isoprene in large quantity, and a use of the Escherichia coli strain FMIS2. The present invention provides the Escherichia coli strain FMIS2 (E. coli BW25113 (DE3) pgi/pACYCDue1-dxs-ispG-idi-ispS) which easily produces isoprene in large quantity. In addition, provided are a method for producing the Escherichia coli FMIS2, and a use thereof.
