A run flat tire of the present invention comprises a tread and side walls formed on both sides of the tread. The run flat tire additionally comprises: a reinforcing material placed in the side walls and comprising MR fluid or ER fluid; a stiffness controller for controlling the strength of the magnetic field applied to the MR fluid or the strength of the electric field applied to the ER fluid to change the fluidity of the MR fluid or the ER fluid and to control the stiffness of the run flat tire; and a pressure monitoring sensor for monitoring the pressure in the run flat tire.
