The present invention relates to a screening method which can be used usefully to discover an anticancer material for facilitating the decomposition of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) by inhibiting the interaction between a DNA damage-induced apoptotic suppressor (DDIAS) and the STAT3. It was confirmed that the DDIAS is involved in the multiplication and malignant transformation of cancer by stabilizing the STAT3 via interaction with the STAT3, which is a cancer gene, and the knockdown of the DDIAS reduces the stability of the STAT3. It was confirmed that the ubiquitination of the STAT3 increases in the knocked-down cells of the DDIAS to decompose the STAT3, reduce the expression of target protein for the STAT3 and inhibit the cell growth of a lung cancer cell line. It was confirmed that the C-terminal of the DDIAS interacts with the C-terminal of the STAT3 via a yeast two-hybrid analysis. The present invention can be used usefully to screen a therapeutic agent of cancer which expresses an antitumor effect by inhibiting the interaction between the DDIAS and the STAT3.
