摘要

The present invention relates to an acrylic water-swellable thickener and a preparing method for the same using an inverse emulsion polymerization method. The present invention does not use a homogenizer in an inverse emulsion polymerization process, drops an initiator continuously without dividing the input temperature and amount of the initiator in steps in order to maximize the stability of a polymerization reaction and production amount of the thickener, and uses a non-aromatic oil with the boiling point of 300°C or more instead of a normal paraffin-based organic solvent which has used as a conventional dispersing agent for the inverse emulsion water-swellable thickener. The present invention also adds a post-treatment step and a vacuum step in order to minimize the remaining volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to prepare the inverse emulsion water-swellable thickener which is eco-friendly and is favorable to the regulations regarding total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
