The purpose of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method for searching for a massive video evidence at high speed in digital forensics, which rapidly search for a desired evidence frame image from a massive video by dividing a search object region into certain ranges to detect a representative frame image and additionally and repeatedly detecting a region estimated to have an evidence image step by step. To this end, according to the present invention, the apparatus for searching for a massive video evidence at high speed in digital forensics comprises: a user interface unit which receives search region information of a video evidence to be searched for and extraction information of a representative image from a user, provides the search region information and the extraction information to a search/recovery engine unit, and displays the representative image extracted by the search/recovery engine unit; and the search/recovery engine unit which extracts representative frame information by analyzing inputted frame information of the search region from the video evidence to be searched for, based on the search region information and the extraction information of the representative image inputted by the user interface unit, recovers the extracted representative frame information into an image, and outputs the image to the user interface unit. Therefore, according to the present invention, when a massive video frame is searched for, it is possible to extract and confirm a representative image at a required ratio in a desired region, thereby rapidly checking a necessary scene with a portion of an image frame alone and reducing a video analysis time.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
