The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus to improve a resolution of a popular low cost thermal imaging camera. More specifically, the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus to improve a resolution of a popular low cost thermal imaging camera by storing high resolution images photographed by a normal high resolution camera during the day and photograph information on a database, photographing a low resolution image using a popular low cost low resolution thermal imaging camera during the night, and matching the low resolution image with the high resolution image from the normal camera. An image control unit controls the normal high resolution camera and the low resolution thermal imaging camera to photograph the same object using a metadata matching table storing photograph information on a normal image photographing unit and a thermal imaging unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
