The present invention provides a method for efficiently purifying and humidifying air of an air cleaner. According to the present invention, an air cleaner includes: an inlet into which external air flows; an outlet from which air treated inside is discharged; and an air flow forming unit forming air flow of enabling the air to flow in through the inlet and be discharged to the outlet. The method for purifying and humidifying air of an air cleaner includes: a first filtering step of enabling the air flowing in through the inlet by the air flow forming unit to pass through a filter installed in a casing; a guiding step of guiding the air passing through the first filtering step to a cyclone container through a connection path in the casing; and a second filtering step of humidifying the air and removing foreign substances in the air by water particles by spattering the water particles in the air flow generated as spiral flow, in the cyclone body. The first filtering step is performed before the second filtering step.
