The present invention provides a terminal and a communication node which performs RF energy harvesting by using characteristics of a contention-based random access communication environment. An RF energy harvesting method in a contention-based random access communication environment comprises the following steps. A communication terminal using a contention-based random access communication performs primary energy harvesting by using an RF signal received in a state of not being connected to an neighboring communication node. The communication terminal is connected to the neighboring communication node. The communication terminal measures a degree of congestion of a communication channel used for data transmission when data to be transmitted to the communication node is present, and performs secondary energy harvesting by using a received RF signal, without transmitting data, when the degree of the congestion of the communication channel is high. When a packet is received through the communication channel, the communication terminal decodes a header of the packet and performs tertiary energy harvesting by using a received RF signal when the destination of the packet is not the communication terminal.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
