Disclosed is a water meter, comprising: a meter reading unit installed in a main body of the water meter, and reading a flow rate of water supplied through a water supply pipe; a sensing unit installed in the main body of the water meter, and sensing vibration transmitted through the water supply pipe; a conversion unit converting the vibration detected from the sensing unit to an electric signal; a frequency analysis unit analyzing a frequency component of the electric signal converted in the conversion unit; a comparing and processing unit comparing and confirming whether the frequency component of the analyzed electric signal excesses a predetermined setting level; a determination and control unit calculating a probability of leakage based on the results obtained from the comparing and processing unit; and an output unit outputting results determined from the determination and control unit into at least one between a video signal and an audio signal. The present invention has an effect of determining the leakage of water and the location where leakage occurs by measuring the usage of water.
