The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for providing traveling information, and more specifically, to an apparatus and a method for providing traveling information by using a traveling IQ test linked to related image content capable of causing an interest in traveling by providing an attraction and restaurant information of a travel region in the form of quiz, which are linked to related image content. According to the present invention, the apparatus for providing traveling information comprises: a travel place storage unit which is provided on a main server to store information about an attraction and information about a restaurant of a travel region; a quiz storage unit which is provided on the main server to process and store the information about the attraction and the information about the restaurant of the travel region in quiz-formed data; an image content storage unit which is provided on the main server to store image content data produced and linked to quiz data; a quiz providing unit which, when a user terminal performs a traveling IQ test, randomly extracts constant pieces of quiz data among a plurality of pieces of quiz data from the quiz storage unit to provide the extracted constant pieces of the quiz data and provides the image content data by synchronizing the image content data with the quiz data; a traveling IQ score calculation unit which calculates a score by comparing answer data inputted through the user terminal with a correct answer of the quiz data; and a traveling IQ display unit which displays, on the user terminal, a traveling IQ score calculated by the traveling IQ score calculation unit and a traveler grade according to the traveling IQ score.
