impulse noise from the noise generation electric source or dense near may interfere with communication via a digital subscriber line (DSL). Impulse noise characteristics of the source present in the DSL loop, timing and characteristics of the length are a critical first step in to mitigate the effects of impulse noise on DSL communication. The DSL standard provides a histogram for the arrival time interval of the impulse length and the impulse. The histogram can be used to derive a characteristic, the maximum frequency, and other statistics related to the impulse noise on the DSL line.
