USE OF V-ATPASE SUBUNIT V1E1 EXPRESSION FOR DIAGNOSIS AND PROGNOSIS OF ESOPHAGEAL SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA

The present invention relates to a marker for diagnosing esophagus cancer or predicting a prognosis, and to a use of the same. The inventors of the present invention have clarified that the expression level of a V-ATPase subunit V1E1 (ATP6V1E1) protein, the histological class of esophagus cancer, and the survival rate of a patient are correlated. It has been confirmed that the proliferation, mobility, metastasis, death, and glycometabolism functions of esophagus cancer cells are controlled when the expression of an ATP6V1E1 gene is inhibited and thus the gene is an important factor with respect to the generation and development of esophagus cancer. The ATP6V1E1 gene is expected to be useful as a genetic marker for diagnosing esophagus cancer and predicting a prognosis, and to be used in screening an esophagus cancer treating material for controlling the expression or activity of the gene and in developing medicines.
