Provided are TD-based low-complexity image segmentation method and a system thereof. An image segmentation method according to the present invention calculates cost by putting an original image and an updated segment image in a cost function. Filters which show calculators of the cost function are represented with at least one of bilateral and vertical symmetric matrixes.
