FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to solid mineral composition for removal of heavy metals, in particular, mercury, in waste gases. Solid composition contains non-functionalised halide salt-doped mineral substance in powder-like form, the surface of which, accessible for waste gases, is partially or completely covered with halide salt, and which is selected from the group, consisting of halloysite, calcium or magnesium hydroxides, and their mixtures, with composition containing 0.5-20.0 wt % of said halide salt counted per dry substance.
