FIELD: acoustics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geoacoustics and can be used for non-destructive quality control, and process of forming ice walls. Based on depth of freezing wells (4, 5) acoustic transducers (6, 7) are arranged for reception of acoustic emission pulses occurring in massif. Method includes determining level of acoustic emission activity, characteristic of controlled geomedium, prior to freezing. Method includes determining average activity of acoustic emission during freezing of geomedium for each of successive commensurate duration of time intervals. Conclusion is made on formation of quality ice wall along at least five times reduction of average acoustic emission activity relative to initial level and its stabilisation in time in process of freezing. Determining presence and location zones (10) of non-closure of ice wall from average values of acoustic emission activity at a certain section of geomedium level, characteristic for qualitatively frozen sections of same geomedium.;EFFECT: technical result is improved reliability of quality control of ice wall.;1 cl, 2 dwg
