FIELD: identification devices.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to difference ranging methods for determining coordinates of pulse sources of ionising and electromagnetic radiation. Said result is achieved as follows: using ground-based photodetector device, optical pulses of fluorescent radiation is recorded, which occurs as result of X-ray radiation impact upon atmosphere from any source. Photodetector enables to record time and direction of arrival of optical pulse from direction of source. Here zenith angle of source is measured. Besides, using photodetector device, time of arrival of fluorescent radiation optical pulse coming from zenith is recorded. Measuring arrival time difference of optical pulses from zenith and towards source, and measuring inclination angle of source, range to X-ray source and its altitude is determined.;EFFECT: technical result is simplification of method implementation.;1 cl, 1 dwg
